Google Docs Dark Mode Still Missing from Web Version

Google Docs has been continuously updated with new features, but one long-requested feature is still missing: dark mode. This omission affects the web version of the application, while mobile users have had access to dark mode since its introduction in 2020.

The reason for this discrepancy is unclear, but Google did offer a workaround via Chrome's experimental features. Users can search for 'Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents' in the chrome://flags page and toggle it on.

However, this method comes with some risks, as these features are still experimental and may compromise browser data and device security.

A safer alternative is to install a third-party browser extension, such as Google Docs Dark Mode or DocsAfterDark. These extensions can automatically activate dark mode in Google Docs and allow users to customize their settings.
