Google Launches Googlebooks: Android-Powered Laptops for the Modern User

Google's new line of laptops, called Googlebooks, are finally launching on October 4th with preorders available now. The initial five models from Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer, and Asus will start at $899 and go up to $1,299.

The Googlebooks run a new operating system that's a blend of Chromebooks and Android, with the added feature of Gemini AI. They look like Chromebooks but have higher-end materials and Android's Material Three Expressive UI on the software side.

One of the standout features of Googlebooks is their integration with Android phones. Users can cast apps from their phone directly to the laptop, access files stored on their phone, and even use their phone's camera to scan documents using the laptop.
