Google Phone App Reverts Controversial Contacts Tab Change

The Google Phone app has started reverting one of its most contentious design changes. The Contacts tab, which was moved to the sidebar last year, is now being brought back to the bottom bar for beta users.

This change was first reported by a couple of users on the GApps and Leaks Telegram page. They noticed that the Contacts tab had reappeared at the bottom of the screen in the latest Phone app beta (version 240.0.98). However, it's unclear when this feature will be rolled out more widely to all users.

For now, users who are on the stable version of the Phone by Google app can still access their contacts, but they have to navigate through a series of menus to find them. The Contacts tab is currently only visible in the latest beta version of the app, suggesting that this change may be part of a gradual rollout.
