Google Taps Nitin Gajria for Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier Markets Role
Google has appointed Nitin Gajria as Managing Director for Southeast Asia and South Asia frontier markets. This new role will see him overseeing the company's commercial strategy across a region where digital adoption is accelerating rapidly.
Gajria joins Google with over 25 years of professional experience, including 12 years at the tech giant itself. He has previously held various leadership positions across Asia Pacific, managing Google's publisher partnerships business and heading its investments in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Google aims to build on increasing consumer interest in AI across Southeast Asia, where active users of its Gemini app have more than doubled over the past year.
Gajria expressed his excitement about the new role, stating that he looks forward to working with Google's employees, partners, developers and creators across the markets. He noted that what excites him most is not just the technology itself but what people in this region will do with it.
