Google is testing direct purchases from Flipkart inside its Gemini app and AI Mode in Search in India. This limited pilot allows some users to buy select Walmart-owned Flipkart phones and electronics directly within Gemini, without leaving the AI interface.

The trial is currently restricted to a small group of users and a narrow set of products, including smartphones, electronics, and mobile accessories. However, other users still see Flipkart listings without the 'Buy' button. Amazon listings appear in the same results but do not have a direct purchase option.

According to media reports, Google plans to expand this feature later in October, ahead of India's festive shopping season. This development builds on Google's shopping features launched in India on 7 April, which included shoppable product listings and comparison tables in English and Hindi.
