Google Translate Shields Smart Glasses Conversations with Auto-Save Block

Google Translate is working on an 'Auto-save transcript' feature for mobile users in Live conversations, but it will not be available when using smart glasses. This move aims to protect user privacy by disabling both manual and automatic transcript saving during smart glasses-based translation sessions.

The update also includes easier access to the Live Translate settings, a new 'Preference' icon that opens the Settings bottom sheet directly, where users can control the text size in Live Translation.

Users will be able to interact with translation on glasses using voice commands and a swipe gesture. This hands-free approach is intended to minimize surveillance concerns associated with smart glasses.
