Google Unveils Argon, Its Most Advanced AI Model Yet

Google has announced its new top-shelf artificial intelligence model, called 'Argon', as part of its Gemini 4 generation. The model is larger than Google's previous line of top-tier 'Pro' models and is designed for complex workloads.

'It's our most performant model yet built for complex workloads, and we see it comparable to frontier models like (OpenAI's) Astra and (Anthropic's) Opus on key coding and cyber benchmarks,' said a company spokesperson.

Google is providing the Argon model to select cybersecurity partners and participating in the Trump administration's voluntary process for pre-release model access. The company did not provide a timeline for the model's public release.
