Google's AI-Powered Phones Now Make Calls on Your Behalf

Google has introduced an AI-powered feature called Call for Me in its latest Pixel phones. The feature uses Gemini AI to make phone calls to businesses on behalf of users, allowing them to gather information and even book appointments without having to handle tedious tasks themselves.

The feature is currently available as a beta release for select Pixel 11 series devices, including the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. It requires users to have a Google AI subscription, with a minimum monthly cost of $4.99 for AI Plus or up to $199.99 for AI Ultra.

Once set up, users can send a prompt through the Gemini app, which will then make the call and gather information on their behalf. The AI assistant will identify itself as an AI-powered tool and use the user's phone number and cell network to make the calls.
