Halloween Without Borders: Global Interest Surges Each October
Halloween has become a global phenomenon, with Google search data showing that interest in the holiday surges each October across countries far beyond the United States.
A Neos Kosmos analysis of Google Trends data for 'Halloween' reveals that this is not just an American celebration, but one that transcends borders and languages.
Ireland leads the world in relative search interest, with a score of 100, narrowly ahead of the United States on 98. This is less surprising given Halloween's ancient Celtic roots and Christian traditions, which are deeply ingrained in Irish culture.
The data also shows that countries like Greece and Australia have developed a recurring seasonal search footprint for Halloween each October. In Greece, interest falls between years, but peaks at 94 in 2025, while in Australia, the Australian Capital Territory records the highest relative interest with a score of 100.
