Honeywell Eyes Acquisitions to Ease Aerospace Supply Bottlenecks
Honeywell Aerospace's CEO Jim Currier is considering acquisitions to address supply chain bottlenecks and quality issues. Speaking at the Morgan Stanley Laguna Conference in California, he stated that buying smaller companies could help bring back work outsourced between 2010 and 2019.
The company has spent two years bringing some technologies and work back into the firm and aims to do more. About 70 suppliers still have quality or delivery problems, down from hundreds in 2022.
Honeywell has also sent skilled employees to two suppliers' factories to help them add shifts, resulting in a 30% increase in output over the past 30-45 days compared to last year.
