Honeywell Gets $25.6M to Refine Nuclear-Tough Navigation Gyro
The US Air Force Research Laboratory has awarded Honeywell Aerospace $25.6 million to continue developing a compact, radiation-hardened gyroscope for strategic use.
The contract follows a previous award in 2020, when the laboratory gave Honeywell a $41.6 million contract to design a Compact Strategic-Grade Gyroscope.
The new work is focused on maturing the design, which means making it more reliable and easier to build, with an expected completion date of July 1, 2029.
