IBM TechX Program Boosts Digital Skills in Sudurpaschim Province
The IBM TechX program, centered on digital technology, automation, and cybersecurity capacity building, took place in Dhangadhi on September 30. The event was organized in collaboration with One Cover Private Limited, a South Asian cybersecurity and technology company. Attendees included representatives from the provincial government, the CAN Federation, academic institutions, and the cybersecurity sector.
Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Khagaraj Bhatta served as the chief guest. Other notable participants were CAN Federation Acting President Chiranjivi Adhikari, Vice President Harka Seti, Central Member Omkar Shrestha, and President of CAN Federation Sudurpaschim Province Dhiren Bogati. Additional attendees included PCPS Chief Growth Officer Kripa Shrestha, PCPS Officer Rishika Dahal, and Baburam Shrestha, AI Consultant at One Cover Private Limited.
The program covered topics such as digital governance, enterprise automation, and technical skills development. Participants emphasized the need to secure institutional digital assets as organizations increasingly adopt artificial intelligence, cloud architecture, and automation technologies.
The organizers stated that the initiative aims to foster local technical talent through partnerships with the IBM TechXchange Automation User Group Nepal and the IBM Innovation Center at Christ University. They also highlighted IBM’s Tech Re-entry Program, designed to help professionals re-enter the technology sector after career breaks, as a potential contributor to developing skilled technical human resources in Sudurpaschim Province.
