Investment Expert Michael Wolf Leaves Lasting Legacy

Michael 'Mike' David Wolf, an investment expert and history enthusiast, passed away at age 82 on September 6, 2026. Born on September 30, 1943, in Breckenridge, MN, Mike grew up with a deep interest in World War II history after his father was stationed overseas during the war.

Mike excelled as a student and football player at Shanley High School in Fargo, winning three state championships under Coach Sid Cichy. He later earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota (UND) in 1965. Mike married his classmate Kathleen Clower that same year, and they spent 61 years together.

Mike worked as an investment officer for IDS/American Express Financial Advisors in Minneapolis, overseeing investment strategy and portfolio management for large-scale corporate and state retirement funds until his retirement in 2002. He was recognized nationally and abroad for his expertise in forecasting long-term market trends.
