Billy Joel's publicist has denied speculation about the singer's death after a reported Google error.

The confusion arose when some users discovered what appeared to be a Google search result listing September 17 as Joel's date of death, and one X user also claimed to have seen this date on his Wikipedia page.

USA TODAY reached out to Google and Wikipedia for comment but did not receive any immediate responses.

This incident follows a week after Billy Joel revealed he had undergone brain surgery. The 77-year-old singer had discussed his health on SiriusXM's The Billy Joel Channel, stating 'I just want people to know, don't worry about me,' and reassuring fans that he was not going anywhere.
