JPMorgan Sees Three Thai Rate Hikes in 2027 Despite Consensus
JPMorgan Chase & Co. has defied consensus in its monetary policy forecast for Thailand, predicting three interest rate hikes next year.
The bank expects the Bank of Thailand to raise rates three times in 2027, starting with a 25-basis point increase in the first quarter.
This would take the benchmark rate to 1.75% by the end of 2027 from its current level of 1%, according to JPMorgan economist Charnon Boonnuch.
