JPMorgan Chase & Co. is considering leading a massive financing for Extell Development's plan to build condominiums on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

The project would be one of the largest ever construction loans in the US, with Extell seeking roughly $3.8 billion in financing to build luxury condos on West 66th Street.

Extell is led by Gary Barnett, who has a history of developing high-end properties in Manhattan. The site where the condos will be built was once home to the ABC television network's headquarters.
