Kahne Revs Up Return to NASCAR
Kasey Kahne's long-awaited return to NASCAR is finally confirmed. After nearly two years in retirement, Kahne will join Spire Motorsports for a full-time deal in the Craftsman Truck Series (soon-to-be FedEx Freight Truck Series) in 2027.
This news comes as a welcome surprise to fans of the driver, who has been out of commission since 2018. With his impressive driving style that kept spectators on the edge of their seats throughout his nearly 15-year NASCAR Cup Series career, Kahne's return is expected to bring excitement back to the sport.
Kahne's most notable moments in NASCAR include his first-ever Cup win at the Richmond 2005, where he started on the pole and led a race-high 242 laps en route to victory. He also won the 2012 Coca-Cola 600, pacing the field for 96 of 400 laps.
In addition to these impressive wins, Kahne's victory in the 2014 Oral-B USA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway helped him lock into the Chase. His final NASCAR Cup win came in 2017 at the Brickyard 400, where he outlasted Brad Keselowski on an overtime restart.
