Kidde and Partners Rally for Fire Safety Ahead of Prevention Month
Kidde, iHeartMedia, and The Home Depot gathered home safety leaders in New York City on October 1, 2026, ahead of Fire Prevention Month. The Cause For Alarm™ Home Safety Forum brought together fire service leaders, safety advocates, and community partners to discuss fire and carbon monoxide (CO) safety.
FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore emphasized the importance of early detection and education. 'Having working alarms in every home is not just a recommendation; it is a critical lifeline,' she said. The event included a $20,000 donation from iHeartIMPACT to the FDNY Foundation for fire safety education.
Country music singer Noah Schnacky shared his family’s connection to first responders and performed to honor the fire service community. Kidde’s Cause For Alarm program, launched in 2022, has evolved into a community impact platform, donating over $9 million worth of alarms in the past four years. At the forum, Kidde announced a $300,000 donation of smoke and CO alarms to the FDNY.
Experts encouraged families to test alarms regularly, replace old alarms, and practice home fire escape plans. Kidde has partnered with The Home Depot and iHeartMedia to bring safety education to communities through local events and promotional support.
