Korean Air Closes Record Deal for 103 Boeing Aircraft
Korean Air has finalized a massive $44.8 billion deal to purchase 103 Boeing aircraft, spare engines, and long-term maintenance services.
The agreement includes 20 Boeing 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s, and eight 777-8F freighters, as well as 21 spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International.
Korean Air will spend $36.2 billion on aircraft and an additional $8.6 billion on spare engines and maintenance services.
The deal is part of the carrier's preparations for its integration with Asiana Airlines, which is set to take place on December 17.
