Korean Air Lands Massive Deal with Boeing for 103 Commercial Planes
Korean Air has finalized an order for 103 commercial planes from Boeing, including 25 North Charleston-built 787-10 jets. The deal is valued at over $36 billion and includes 21 spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International, as well as a 15-year maintenance contract for 28 planes.
The agreement was made during a signing ceremony in Seoul on Tuesday, according to Walter Cho, chairman and CEO of Korean Air and Hanjin Group. He called the deal 'a testament to the trust and the unbreakable alliance between our two countries.'
The order fulfills a procurement agreement made by Korean Air over a year ago, marking a significant milestone in bilateral trade negotiations between the two nations.
