Labor Day Shopping: What's Open and Closed on September 7th
As Labor Day approaches on September 7th, many Americans are planning cookouts and shopping trips. But before heading out, it's essential to know what businesses will be open or closed for the holiday.
Costco members should note that all U.S. warehouse locations will be closed on Monday. Banks and credit unions will also observe the federal holiday, meaning traditional branches will be shut down. Mail and package delivery services from USPS, UPS, and FedEx will not operate as usual, with some locations possibly open but with limited hours.
On the other hand, most major retailers are expected to keep their regular hours on Monday. These include Walmart, Target, Kohl's, Best Buy, DICK'S Sporting Goods, JCPenney, and others. Grocery stores like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Kroger, and its affiliated chains will also be open for business.
Dining options are similarly unaffected, with major restaurant and fast-food chains such as McDonald's, Dunkin', Chick-fil-A, and more expected to operate as usual. However, some locations may have reduced holiday hours, so it's always a good idea to check ahead of time.
