Levant Store Offers Free Hugs, Drinks, and Relief from Rising Costs

A local store in Levant, Maine is giving back to its community this weekend. The Levant Corner Store is hosting a Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event features free hot dogs and a bounce house, but one of the main attractions is the Coca-Cola 'Hug Machine'. This specialty vending machine dispenses a free drink to anyone who gives it a hug.

According to General Manager Lance Allard, the store wanted to offer its regular customers some relief amid rising costs. 'Personally, it's great,' he said. 'I know half the people that walk through the door. It's just good to see people I know and help them out.'

In addition to the fun activities, 10 cents from every gallon of gas sold will be donated to the Christine B. Foundation in Bangor, which supports local cancer patients.
