McDonald's India's X account was compromised over the weekend and used to post unusual messages alleging an intern had gone unpaid for months. The posts claimed that an intern managing several of McDonald's Asian accounts had not received a salary since December 2025 and named Amit Joshi, identified as a supervisor, as responsible for the alleged non-payment.

The posts further described the intern's alleged circumstances, including working in customer support and delivery roles alongside trading memecoins. The account claimed that financial losses from this activity had left the person struggling to afford food.

However, one post appeared to shift the timeline of the alleged non-payment, claiming it actually stretched back to May rather than December. This created confusion online over the exact details being alleged.
