McDonald's Taps Trusted Lieutenant for Turnaround Bid
McDonald's has appointed Skye Anderson as its new president for its US business. The move comes after sales at established US restaurants rose only 0.8% in the second quarter, the slowest pace since early 2025 and below Wall Street expectations.
The company had introduced cheaper menu items to entice price-sensitive diners, but its efforts fell short with fewer people visiting McDonald's US restaurants. CEO Chris Kempczinski acknowledged that the chain made unforced errors, including too many new product launches at once, which overwhelmed restaurants, slowed service, and annoyed customers.
Kempczinski praised Anderson, a 26-year company veteran, for her operational prowess and business acumen. He noted that she had modernized over 5,700 restaurants and achieved strong comparable sales growth in her previous role as head of the West Coast business.
