Merck Opens Custom Bioprocess Media Center in Daejeon Ahead of Large-Scale Facility Launch

Merck has opened its imMEDIAte ADVANTAGE Center in Daejeon, South Korea. The center provides customers with small-scale, customized bioprocess materials ahead of the opening of Merck's larger manufacturing facility at the site.

The new center offers pre-GMP production of customized cell culture media, feeds, supplements and buffers for customers during process development before they move to larger-scale manufacturing.

According to Diana Kim, country head of Process Solutions at Merck Life Science Korea, 'By opening the center now, customers can access critical pre-GMP capabilities immediately, while the Daejeon site prepares for its grand opening on Oct. 29, 2026.'
