Merck Subsidiary Opens New R&D Facility in Wisconsin
EMD Electronics, Merck's North America electronics business unit, has opened a new research and development facility in Sheboygan Falls. The 38,000-square-foot facility is expected to create 44 new jobs. According to EMD Electronics, the project is part of its ongoing efforts to expand its operations in North America.
The new facility will allow EMD Electronics to increase its R&D capacity and bring more innovative products to market. The company's research focus areas include advanced materials, semiconductors, and electronics. Merck KGaA, the parent company of EMD Electronics, is a global healthcare and biopharmaceutical leader based in Germany.
The opening of the new facility marks another significant investment by Merck KGaA in its North American operations. The Sheboygan Falls site has been home to EMD Electronics' operations since 2014.
