Merck's Keytruda/Padcev Combo Wins Positive CHMP Opinion

Merck has announced that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has adopted a positive opinion on the combination treatment of Keytruda (pembrolizumab) and Padcev (enfortumab vedotin).

The CHMP's decision is based on data from the EV-301 clinical trial, which demonstrated that the combination of Keytruda and Padcev significantly improved overall survival in patients with previously treated advanced urothelial carcinoma compared to chemotherapy.

Keytruda is an immunotherapy medication developed by Merck, while Padcev is a monoclonal antibody drug developed by Astellas Pharma and Agenus Inc. The combination of these two drugs has been shown to be effective in treating certain types of cancer, including urothelial carcinoma.
