Microsoft Cracks Down on Script Injection with Stricter CSP Rules
Microsoft is enforcing stricter Content Security Policy (CSP) rules on Entra ID sign-in pages starting in October 2026. This change aims to reduce the risk of script-based attacks, such as cross-site scripting (XSS), by only allowing Microsoft-approved scripts to run.
Currently, some third-party tools inject code into the authentication experience, which can create an additional attack surface. However, with the new CSP rules in place, these tools may stop functioning, potentially disrupting workflows for organizations that rely on them.
Microsoft emphasizes that users will still be able to sign in even if unsupported script injection tools no longer work. The company states that this change is enabled by default and does not require tenant configuration.
