Microsoft Objects to Data Center Power Cost Agreement with We Energies

Microsoft has objected to an agreement between We Energies and the Wisconsin Public Service Commission regarding costs related to its $20.6 billion data center projects in the state.

The company claims it was not involved in negotiations and that the agreement does not ensure consumers do not pay for costs associated with bringing power to Microsoft's facilities.

Microsoft stated that it was 'not allowed to give input on the agreement' and that the agreements contain 'significant deficiencies, errors, contradictions, and inconsistencies.'

The company is requesting that a settlement judge be appointed to resolve the issues, which include concerns over timeline transparency and potential cost overruns.
