Microsoft Touts Copilot as 'AI Built for Work' with Redesigned Super App

Microsoft has unveiled its new Copilot 'super app', which bundles three AI capabilities into one interface: chat, coding, and agents. The redesigned app includes a Home tab that combines Copilot Chat and Cowork, a Code tab for creating apps and automations, and an Autopilot tab that serves as a digital teammate.

The new Autopilot is the cloud equivalent of Scout, which was initially available as a desktop app. It enables a personal AI assistant to keep running while users are asleep, watching Teams channels, running recurring work tasks, or handling follow-ups.

Copilot's usage-based billing will depend on what employees are doing, with long-running agentic capabilities or usage of models like Astra and Fable billed based on usage. IT admins can manage AI spend using Microsoft's new FinOps for AI.
