Microsoft Unifies Copilot App Across Users
Microsoft is unifying its Copilot app experience across different user types. The new unified Copilot will merge consumer and productivity-based experiences, making it easier to switch between using the AI assistant for personal matters and productivity tasks.
The rollout begins today, with mobile users seeing changes first. Microsoft says that all Copilot data (except for features being taken away) will migrate automatically to the new experience. This means users won't need to do anything to ensure their chats and data are carried forward.
However, some features are going away with the unification. Group Chat, Podcasts, and Deep Research are being retired or fully retired by August 18, 2026. Users must manually copy or download any content they want to keep before this date.
