Microsoft Updates Surface Mouse with Haptics and Copilot Button

Microsoft has updated its Surface Mouse for the first time since 2016. The new Surface Mouse Second Edition, launching on October 13 at $79.99 in Black and Platinum, boasts several key improvements.

The exterior design of the mouse remains unchanged from the original, but the internal changes are significant. A new action button below the scroll wheel allows for customizable functionality, with Copilot as its default setting that can be remapped through Windows 11 settings.

The Surface Mouse Second Edition also introduces haptic feedback, using small vibration motors to provide physical confirmation when clicking or performing certain actions in supported apps like PowerPoint and Affinity. Microsoft's VP of Surface Devices, Brett Ostrum, describes the feature as 'subtle by design.'

Additionally, the mouse now features Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, enabling it to remember up to three paired devices.
