Musk's Colossus 2 Expansion Plans Keep Nvidia in Spotlight
Nvidia's stock finished roughly flat on Friday despite Elon Musk's announcement that he plans to more than double the number of Nvidia chips at his Colossus 2 data centre by year-end.
This is part of a broader wave of AI data-centre construction, with Anthropic signing a seven-year, $11.6 billion cloud services commitment with Akamai and Microsoft relaunching its Copilot assistant with agentic Autopilot tools.
However, not everyone is convinced that the spending will pay off, with Goldman Sachs questioning the returns on AI capital expenditure and early Uber investor Bradley Tusk calling OpenAI and Anthropic valuations 'wildly overvalued'.
