Nokia Partners with Microsoft on Unified Network Automation Platform
Nokia Corporation (NOK) is advancing its network automation capabilities through an expanded partnership with Microsoft Corporation (MSFT), which aims to develop a unified data foundation for telecom providers.
The collaboration, designed to give operators faster access to trusted data across multi-vendor networks, integrates Nokia Data Suite with Microsoft Fabric. This combination of telco-specific data products and unified analytics enables use cases such as automated root-cause analysis and predictive maintenance.
Nokia is initially applying these capabilities to autonomous Voice over New Radio assurance, where AI agents detect network anomalies, analyze service issues, and recommend corrective actions. The company's geo-experience technology also combines subscriber, network, and radio-frequency data to identify coverage and capacity issues and provide actionable recommendations.
The demand for intelligent telecom infrastructure is growing, and this initiative supports Nokia’s efforts to expand its AI-enabled portfolio and meet the rising need for automated, data-driven network operations. The company faces competition from Ericsson (ERIC) and Cisco Systems (CSCO), which are also advancing in network automation through their own initiatives.
