Nvidia-Branded Trailers Stolen in Bizarre Heist

Thieves stole two large trailers bearing Nvidia logos from Plus AI's facility in Fremont, California on the night of the 23rd. The thieves broke the locks and hauled away the trailers using a tractor unit they had brought to the site.

The trailers were found abandoned on the side of a road in Newark, about half a mile from the scene, with their rear doors open. They carried 40,000 pounds (18 tons) of sand, which Plus AI uses to simulate hauling real freight while testing its self-driving trucks.

Lauren Kwan, vice president of marketing at Plus AI, said the thieves may have been misled by the Nvidia logo into thinking the trailers held valuable equipment. The two companies are partners in autonomous trucking technology and AI software development.
