Nvidia Sets New Record with $150 Billion Share Buyback Plan
Nvidia has announced a massive $150 billion expansion of its share repurchase program, marking the largest in history. The California-based firm aims to reduce the number of outstanding shares and boost earnings per share by buying back stock through January 30, 2028.
The move comes as Nvidia's revenue continues to soar, driven by demand for its advanced artificial intelligence processors. The company's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, attributed this growth to a 'once-in-a-generation platform shift' to AI and accelerated computing.
'Our cash generation gives us the capacity to invest in the technologies that advance this transformation and return capital to shareholders,' Huang said.
