Nvidia Sets Record Share Buyback Program Amid AI Demand Surge
Nvidia, the American technology company based in California, has increased its authorized share buyback program by a record $150 billion to a total of $235 billion. This move surpasses Apple's previous record of $110 billion set in 2024 and is expected to be used over the next four years until 2028.
The decision comes as Nvidia faces surging demand for artificial intelligence training and inference technologies, driving strong cash generation for the company. In premarket trading, shares of Nvidia rose by 1.2% after the announcement.
Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, stated that the company's ability to generate cash allows it to invest in technologies that drive transformation as well as return capital to shareholders.
