Nvidia's stock price ended its five-day winning streak on Wednesday after a large insider sale.

The chipmaker's shares had climbed across the previous five trading sessions, rising from $212.17 on September 15 to $227.38 on September 21, before retreating to $225.36 on Wednesday.

Nvidia director Mark Stevens sold 1.366 million shares on September 18 for about $300.15 million, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

This sale did not deter investors from holding onto Nvidia stock, however, as it remained above its September 15 closing level, leaving the shares about 6.2% higher over that period.
