Nvidia's Dividend Hike Falls Short of Expectations
Nvidia raised its dividend by an impressive 2,400% in May, but this move has left many investors wondering if it's a sign of a shift in the company's strategy.
The new quarterly dividend is $0.25 per share, making it one of the largest increases in recent history.
However, despite the massive hike, Nvidia's yield remains relatively low at 0.44%.
This means that a $10,000 investment in Nvidia would only generate around $44 per year in dividend income.
Nvidia has been using its capital return program to buy back shares and return value to shareholders, with nearly $40 billion spent on share repurchases this year alone.
The company's management has stated that it wants to return 50% or more of free cash flow to shareholders, net of strategic uses.
