Panasonic Impulse Stay Unbeaten with Thrilling Win Over IBM BIG BLUE

The Panasonic Impulse continued their winning streak in Japan's X League Premier, extending it to five games with a 37-23 victory over IBM BIG BLUE. The game took place at MK Taxi Field Expo in Suita, and the Impulse exploded out of the gate, scoring 17 points in under six minutes.

Koki Yokoi started off the scoring for Panasonic with a 39-yard field goal, but it was their defense that really set them up for success. Moses Kaito Wiseman picked off Yoshihito Yagi's first snap after the kickoff and returned it seven yards. Just two plays later, Yuya Araki hit Caleb Phillips for a 35-yard touchdown.

IBM went three-and-out on its next possession, and Soma Yamashita took the punt 65 yards to the end zone, putting Panasonic up 17-0 with under six minutes gone. Yokoi stretched the lead with a 52-yard field goal early in the second quarter, and Victor Mitchell finished a 57-yard drive by powering in from two yards out at halftime.

IBM's Yoshihito Yagi finally got his team on the board in the third quarter with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Ikuha Hiramatsu. He kept the comeback moving in the fourth quarter, connecting with Reece Horn for a four-yard touchdown.

However, Panasonic's early lead was too much for IBM to overcome, and Mitchell helped shut the door with a 39-yard run on third-and-eight that set up a five-yard touchdown by Takuya Fujimoto. The Impulse closed out the win and walked away with their fifth straight victory.
