Pixel Camera Color Profile Tweaks Bring New Life to Photos

Jade Bryan, a feature author at Android Police, shared his experience with the Google Pixel camera's color profile settings. As an avid user of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL as his primary camera phone, he noticed that the colors in his shots didn't look as rich as he envisioned.

After some experimentation, Bryan discovered that switching to the Display P3 color format made a significant difference in the vividness of his photos. This format extends the color range by roughly 25%, rendering deeper reds, richer oranges, and more vivid greens.

Bryan explained that modern devices like the Pixel rely on two color standards: sRGB and Display P3. While most devices default to sRGB, newer flagships come with P3-ready screens. However, the out-of-the-box profile on Pixels remains the older sRGB format.
