RCS Media Sending Issues Hit Android Users with Google Messages
Google Messages users on Android devices are experiencing issues sending media files via RCS (Rich Communication Services). Specifically, affected users report problems sending GIFs, pictures, photomoji, and stickers to other Android phones when RCS is enabled.
The problem does not occur when sending media to iPhones via RCS. Users have tried various troubleshooting steps, including restarting their phone, clearing cache, force-stopping the app, resetting the network, and toggling the RCS connection, but these efforts do not resolve the issue.
One user reported that clearing storage fixed the problem, although they lost access to the Photomoji tab in the process. The extent of this issue is unclear, as Google has not commented on the matter yet.
