Week-ending October 2 saw retail investors focus on five popular stocks across various sectors. Micron Technology MU and Advanced Micro Devices AMD were among those that caught attention due to their AI infrastructure momentum, earnings reports, and corporate news. MU posted a record quarterly revenue of $54.23 billion, beating the consensus estimate by more than $3 billion.
The company also guided fiscal first-quarter revenue to $61.5 billion ± $1.5 billion, supported by strong AI-driven memory demand. Micron's CFO Mark Murphy outlined a specific timeline for utilizing the semiconductor manufacturer's cash reserves, totaling $73.48 billion at the end of fiscal year 2026.
Nike NKE reported its fiscal first-quarter 2027 results, with revenue falling 4% to $11.2 billion and diluted EPS coming in at $0.48. The company introduced Pace, a restructuring program expected to generate about $2.5 billion in cumulative savings through fiscal 2031.
Meanwhile, Meta Platforms META maintained a strong price trend over the long, medium, and short terms, with a moderate value score according to Benzinga's Edge Stock Rankings. Advanced Micro Devices AMD announced an $8.2 billion all-stock deal to acquire AI lab World Labs on September 28, with founder Fei-Fei Li set to join AMD as chief scientist.
Alphabet GOOGL was also in focus due to its new Gemini 4 Argon AI model and the launch of Gemini Live on Android for blind and low-vision users. Analysts said this could intensify pressure on rivals such as OpenAI and Meta, potentially forcing lower AI-model pricing.
