RIP Christine Lee 'Chris' Dawson: Mt. Jackson Resident Passes Away at 75

Christine Lee 'Chris' Dawson, a 75-year-old resident of Mt. Jackson, Virginia, passed away on September 6, 2026, at Life Care Center rehab unit in New Market. Born on July 7, 1951, in Prince George's County Maryland, Chris was the daughter of Hilton Alfred and Ruth Ann (Mitchell), who predeceased her.

Chris graduated from Duval High School in Glendale, MD, and had a distinguished career as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service in College Park, MD. She later worked in Customer Service for Home Depot and in maintenance for the Golf Course Driving Range at Bryce Resort.

Survived by her wife Terry Eller, whom she married on November 16, 2023, after 27 years together, Chris also leaves behind siblings and nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held privately at a later date.
