Salesforce, a leading customer relationship management (CRM) platform, experienced a major global outage on September 16. The incident began at 8:50am BST and affected customers worldwide, causing severe delays, errors, and disruptions to key services.

The company isolated the source of the problem to an issue with its internal login service, which consumed available server resources.

As a result, tens of thousands of users were unable to access Salesforce's platform during the outage, including attendees at the CRM giant's annual Dreamforce conference in San Francisco.

Salesforce stated that most customers had recovered by 3:56pm BST, but the incident exposed vulnerabilities in its system and highlighted how a single component failure can compromise its wider estate.
