Salesforce Ordered to Face Lawsuit Over Customer Data Breach

A California federal judge has denied Salesforce's bid to dismiss a proposed class action lawsuit against the company. The lawsuit alleges that security weaknesses in Salesforce's cloud platform allowed hackers to steal customer data, including personal information.

The plaintiff claims that Salesforce's failure to properly secure its customers' data led to the breach. In response, Salesforce argued that it was not responsible for the breach and that the plaintiffs had failed to show any actual harm.

In a ruling issued on September 15, 2026, the judge largely denied Salesforce's motion to dismiss, allowing the lawsuit to proceed.
