Salesforce's stock soared by 12.8% in after-hours trading following its release of fiscal second-quarter 2027 results, which exceeded Wall Street's expectations on key metrics. The cloud software giant reported revenue of $11.35 billion, a rise of 11% from the previous year, and net income of $3.53 billion, or $4.29 per share, which jumped 87% from the same period last year.

The company attributed its strong performance to a $2.6 billion gain on strategic investments from its stake in AI startup Anthropic. Salesforce also upgraded its full-year adjusted earnings per share guidance to $16.67 to $16.71 and increased revenue expectations to $46.1 billion to $46.4 billion, surpassing the consensus of $46.11 billion.

The company's partnership with Anthropic was highlighted by the launch of 'Claudeforce,' a new way for salespeople to access critical data directly from inside Anthropic’s Claude chatbot. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff described the initiative as delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts.
