Scheffler Breaks Drought with Dominant Win at FedEx St. Jude Championship

Scottie Scheffler dominated the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, winning by eight shots and ending a drought of five top-five finishes without a win. His commanding victory capped off a remarkable run since January's The American Express, where he also won.

Scheffler had finished runner-up four times and racked up four other top-five finishes before finally getting his second win of the year. He attributed his consistency to staying in each week and battling through tough swings, crediting caddie Ted Scott and a strong support team for keeping him motivated.

At one point, Scheffler's lead was reduced to just one shot after he suffered a freak bounce off a sprinkler head on the third hole. However, he recovered with five birdies in his final round of 66, which matched the course record at TPC Southwind.

The win marked Scheffler's second PGA Tour victory this year and catapulted him to new heights in terms of strokes gained across various facets of the game. He tied the course record with a second-round 61 and became the third-youngest player behind Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus to reach 21 PGA Tour wins.
