Seamless Navigation: Tips for Using Google Maps on CarPlay

For those who prefer Google Maps over Apple Maps, there are ways to improve navigation on CarPlay. One of the easiest methods is to use Siri requests by adding 'on Google Maps' at the end. This can help avoid Apple Maps opening by default.

Those in regions where local regulations allow it, such as the EU and Japan, can choose their preferred app as the default. This means when asking for directions or tapping an address, the iPhone and CarPlay will use the chosen app instead of Apple Maps.

To add Google Maps to the CarPlay Home Screen, go to Settings > General > CarPlay on your iPhone, select your car, and choose Apps. Rearrange the order by dragging Google Maps near the top for quicker access.
