Securing Google Wallet: A User's Story

Google Wallet has been a game-changer for me, making it easy to leave my physical cards at home. I use it for contactless payments, storing tickets and loyalty cards, and more.

However, putting all that sensitive information on one device made me think about security. So, I went through Google Wallet's settings and made a few changes.

I enabled Device unlock for NFC, which adds an extra step to contactless payments by requiring my phone to be unlocked before completing the transaction.

I also removed the Wallet shortcut from my lock screen, as it was convenient but not necessary when I wasn't using it. And, I checked how my passes are shared across Google and removed payment cards I no longer use.
